LOCATION and MAP
- Ideally located in the southern hills of the Stafylos area (midway between Skopelos town and Stafylos beach) to maintain a sense of rural seclusion, yet close to everything you might want.
- The area is very diverse and it will be exiting to explore the neighboring forest and dry river bed by hiking under huge plane trees.
- You will have the best of both worlds; quiet countryside and a short drive to Stafylos beach when you want to swim, or Skopelos town for going out.
GETTING AROUND
- To enjoy the island to the fullest, a vehicle (car or motorbike) is essential, unless you are a keen walker.
- Skopelos Central Port is 2.6 km (1.6 miles) away. The Old Town of Skopelos enjoys special status as a ‘traditional settlement of outstanding beauty’, but that’s not to say that there isn’t plenty to do here. Lose yourself in the maze of back streets behind the buzzy harbor or hire a little motor boat and see Greece’s own ‘Emerald Isle’ from a delightfully different perspective.
- SKLAVENITIS super market, well known for providing best-in-class quality products, is 1.8 km (1.1 miles) away from the house, on the main bus road of the island. The KRITIKOS supermarket is at the same distance, on the main bus road.
- The nearest beach to the house, Stafylos, 3 km (1.8 miles) away, is located on the southern tip of the island. A fine shingle beach in a relatively enclosed bay, with transparent, fairly shallow waters. There is a small beach bar that serves snacks and iced drinks and a kiosk that rents sunbeds and umbrellas.
- Agnondas is 6.5 km (4 miles) away. A small fishing port with three waterfront tavernas and another little beach - just a ten-minute drive - whilst the much-photographed Limnonari cove is a further five minutes or so in the same direction.
PROPERTY SUITABILITY
- From the parking area at the entrance of the land, access to house is via a pretty steep footpath of 80 meters length, and for this reason the apartment isn't suitable for elderly guests, people with walking difficulties, and ladies with high heels (flat shoes only please, you can leave your high heels in the car).
- The owner will transport your luggage to the apartment in his 4X4 vehicle or by some other means.
